The 1200 calorie diet is based on eating enough good without starving yourself. The diet has you getting your calories from 3 different area. Complex carbohydrates make up 55% of your calories. Calories from protein should be 15% and 30% from fats. No more then 10% of your fat should be coming from saturated forms. You can find more info at:
